Breaking Bad

I've broken a lot of things in my life (some dishware, a few speed limits, a heart or two, the occasional wind), and now feels like a great time to break something new.

Today Sue and I break ground on an addition on our house. We'll be adding an upstairs-downstairs addition (about 340 ft² total) that will expand our dining room downstairs and give us a bonus room upstairs (play room/media room/guest room/man cave). We're also adding new kitchen countertops and sinks, wood flooring throughout the downstairs, and a new laundry room area. We hope to be done with construction by the end of May.

Here are some images from the plans our contractor submitted to the city and to our HOA for permitting and approval, respectively. The darker lines in each image represent the new construction.

The new construction is on the right side of this image, extending into the back yard.
